even if they are 5 feet, they still go for 6 feet boyfriend.:-) I had a girlfriend who was at least an inch taller than me and height was not an issue for her.

Of course I had heard women talk about tall men being sexy – "tall, dark and handsome." But I assumed that it was similar to the way men see large breasts – they look good but generally we don't care one way or the other.Hi whirlpool, I’m a 19 year old Australian guy and I am in my first year of university – well, almost finished it now.Towards the end of high school, I had some medical issues and I ended up having to complete VCE via distance education.I'd say for women it's at least in the top three items of importance.I'm a guy, but I know a lot of girls have a strong preference towards average or taller guys. Anything over about 5'8 or 5'9 starts becoming a massive turn off for me. unfortunately you're under average which wont help you though accept it and stay positive, there are girls who are not too pretentious about this. That 'look' just fits what most women desire as the ideal mate. I met with her when I was one year older than you and it was my 2nd year; she was finishing uni. Try and find people within your interest area; or dating websites.

I guess smaller guys need to make up for it in other areas. I'm female and tallish I guess (174cm or about 5'8'' ish I think). I think it is a biological thing and also a body image thing. My gf is few cms higher than me (I'm around 181-182 and she's like 185), we've been together for almost 3 years. Sad but true despite all the progress with women's rights etc.

i would go out with someone taller – not anything that would worry me. Have I had a bit of bad luck or is this something that I’m going to have to get used to?

I understand that everyone has different preferences and such, I just want a realistic idea of it’s importance.

It wasn’t until second semester that I met another girl that I liked.

She was struggling with math and I helped her study each week. Ever since I was a kid, I have loved being short, I like the feeling of being the underdog.

I'm not a woman but from what I've been told it's pretty important.
